Maintaining your Wooden Hot Tub is crucial for the long term usage. Below you can find the important points to take care about your wooden hot tub.

FILLING THE WOODEN HOT TUB
:

  • Always ensure that your wooden hot tub is full of water to avoid leakage and wood from shrinking.
  • For external heater models, water should both cover and fill the inlet and outlet pipe. For the internal heater models, water should be filled at least 2/3 of the total depth.wooden hot tub maintenance
  • It is suggested that you should refill the tub after every session, however if you know that you are going to use the wooden hot tub for 3 days straight, it would be fine. It is recommended that you shower or take a bath before you use the wooden hot tub, to ensure that you prolong the use of the water.

CLEANING THE WOODEN HOT TUB:

  • There is no need for any chemicals to keep the water clean, however it is advised that you brush the inside wooden surface when the hot tub is empty.
  • Do not leave any dirt in the hot tub as the bacteria can form a slippery coating. To avoid this from occurring, disinfect and clean the inside of the wooden hot tub on a regular basis.
  • All accessible parts of the wooden hot tub are to be scrubbed when it is empty and afterwards it should be given a good rinse.
  • It is recommended that the inside of the wooden hot tub should be scrubbed once in a while; using a soft brush and soap and afterwards it should be given a good rinse.

 PROTECTING YOUR WOODEN HOT TUB:

  • Depending on the weather conditions, the exterior should be treated every 1-3 years, using Linseed Oil. This incredible oil penetrates in the timber and it will allow for a greater resistance in certain weather conditions, especially during those hot summer days when the wood will be very dry. This will also avoid the timber from rotting. Do not treat the inside walls of the wooden hot tub.

MAINTAINING METAL STRAPS AROUND THE TUB:Take care about wooden hot tub

  • It has been advised that regular checking of the straps should be done, at least on a monthly basis. All straps should then be adjusted if it is necessary.

When you first fill your hot tub with water, there are a few leaks that may appear. The reason for this is that it will occur until the timber is saturated and the joints are sealed naturally. Once this takes place, the leaks will stop.

DRAINING THE WOODEN HOT TUB:

  • Use the draining hole and plug to drain your wooden hot tub.
  • Ensure that the water remains clean, drain the water after it has been used 3 times or on a monthly basis. Clean it and then refill with fresh, clean water.
  • Every wooden hot tub contains a floor drain. If you upgraded to high flow drain tap, you can do this by attaching a hose to the drain and dispose the water straight to your garden or a drain. We suggest that you drain your tub when needed and then refill with clean water. The water from the hot tub is safe for garden plants, but it is not recommended that you use it for vegetable plants.
  • It is suggested that you only empty your wooden hot tub when the water cooled down. The reason for this is that during this time the water in the stove has cooled down. Continuous heat when the heater is not surrounded by water may damage the heater.

USING THE WOOD BURNING STOVE:

  • The maximum time it takes to heat up the hot tub is 3 hours. It all depends on the temperature of the water, the size of the tub and the outside temperature.
  • It is suggested that you start the heating process once the water inside the wooden hot tub is almost 10cm from the top.
  • You can control the water temperature by using a thermometer and by changing the fire intensity with the air intake control. Once you have reached your desired temperature, close the regulator and the water temperature will not increase.
  • By simply regulating the airflow, it allows you to have full control over the fire and heat.

THE REMOVAL OF ASH REMAINS:

  • Check for any excessive build-up of excess tar and clean immediately.ofuro hot tub wooden seat
  • Each internal heater includes a set of ash tools; this is for the removal of ash between uses.
  • You can use the ash for your garden. Mix the compost directly into the soil.
  • If you have an external heater, they come with the ashtray.

TYPES OF FIREWOOD FOR THE STOVE:

  • It is suggested that you only make use of dry hardwoods. You may use others; however firewood that contains high resin content can only lead to the build-up of more excess tar, meaning that you will then have to clean often.
  • Avoid using coal fuels and fresh, wet/green wood.
